This one's for Daddy!

If any of you know what a duck call is then you will appreciate this little clip. And if you don't know what one is, well you'll probably like this clip anyways. I never knew what a duck call was until I met my duck hunting husband :)

Charles loves to duck hunt and he could probably spend hours practicing blowing the duck call! It is so funny to me. Well he was so excited when Barrett blew it for the first time. Now, Bear is a champ and he gets really into it. Here is Barrett blowing a duck call - his daddy was so proud!

Barrett-isms

So now that Mr. Bear is just getting so old, he is talking so much! He pretty much has his own language. I feel like his vocabulary is really good! He is getting his own personality and it's adorable. He wants to help with everything too! He will be such a great big brother one day!

The other day he did two really cute things. One - we were at my mom's house and he picked up a paper towel that had fallen on the floor and marched right over to the trash can to throw it away! I have never explained that process to him yet so that was purely imitation! It was so stinkin' cute!! Second - he helps me feed Zoey in the morning and at night. He picks up her dog bowl and brings it over to the pantry to fill up. Afterward, he very carefully walks with the bowl to put it back. It is sooooo soooo cute!

Barrett's Vocabulary:
Coco - Cooocooocooocooo
Car - Ca
Mama - Memma
Dada- dadadadada
Fish - veesh
Tree - eesh
Zoey - Sssssss
Up- bup bup bup or memma bup (momma up)
Train - tae
Help - hep
Dog - da
More - ma
Banana- nu na nu
Apple - bapple
Cheese - Cheee
Bath - ba
Out - ou

There are probably more but I just can't think of all of them!

He also can sign. He knows "All done!" and "More". This is VERY helpful during feeding time b/c it can be hard when they can't communicate. I'd like to teach him even more!

Daddy and Bear Playdate

Well Mr. Bear hasn't felt the best the last two days. At first, I thought it was just his teeth hurting but it ended up being something viral (that's what the dr. said!) We got him tested for the flu and strep and he was negative for both. His temp got up to 102.5! Well after being in the house for a couple of days, Bear was definately getting cabin fever. His daddy decided to take him to see Mr. Cole at the fire station yesterday! I'm pretty proud of Charles for taking such good pictures! After I handed him the camera on his way out, I had know idea if he would take any!

When Bear got home from seeing the fire truck, he ran in with a huge smirk and showed me his new hat and stickers. He was so excited!!

Future Pilot?

Charles has been off for a few days so we have enjoyed our family time together. On Tuesday, he and I took Bear to the doctor to look at his little duck feet :) His left one is pretty turned out but the dr. said no worries, he will grow out of it! Apparently the muscles on the outer part of his foot are stronger than the muscles on the inner foot. Afterward, we went to see the new plane that daddy is flying! Barrett knows exactly what airplanes are. They are constantly flying over our house because we are close to DFW airport. Barrett always drops whatever he is doing when he hears the planes and throw his hands in the air.
Charles is a pilot for Encore Enterprises. They recently bought a plane much bigger than the previous one he was flying! He was excited to show it to Bear and I! Barrett thought the controls were the coolest thing. Maybe he'll be a pilot just like his daddy!

Summer's Wedding

Summer and Andrews wedding was so fun! Even though I had to leave Mr. Bear for a couple days, Charles and I really enjoyed spending that time together. It was fun catching up with friends! I didn't know what Charles would be doing all day Saturday while we were doing our girlie stuff, but he definately kept himself entertained with John, Brian and Phil. They played golf all day and definately had a great time. My parents also came up for the wedding. I'm so happy for Summer and Andrew!! I can't believe she is Summer Estes now!! Charles and I ate at Pioneer twice while we were there. The prices in Wichita are unbelievable. I think our breakfast total was 13.00. So different than Dallas! We also got to see my little brother while we were there. I miss him! Allie, Staci and I went to Storkland while we were there. That store is sooo cute!!! We had a wonderful time in Wichita for the Estes wedding :)
